Once Again New Hampshire will be hosting a Color Guard Academy in January 2013. We hope to see you all there.
Dates: 19-20 January, 0800-1700 (may run long) both days.
Location: Wing HQ Concord.
Uniform: arrive in BDU's, but bring blues to work on and change into for various training.
Cost is $0
Open to NH and VT cadets (other wings if there is space).

2011 New Hampshire Wing Color Guard Academy

Cadets from across New Hampshire gathered in Concord for a weekend of Color Guard training. Cadets were trained in all aspects of the Color Guard program. The goal of the Color Guard Academy is to train cadets to be proficient color guard members; and to be able to return to their squadron a train teams for cadet competition.
Cadets started the weekend with an overview of the program, and a briefing on the Civil Air patrol Honor Guard Program. They then spent the day working on flag folding, indoor drill, color presentation, and uniforms. The second day had the cadets visiting the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery for an orientation and tour of the cemetery, outdoor drill, and raising and lowering the flag. The cadets were also visited on the second day by the members of the Unit Commanders Course (UCC) being held at the NH Wing HQ.
The weekend was a fun and rewarding for the attendees and staff. New Hampshire Wing Cadet Programs would like to extend our thanks to the Shaker Road School for hosting the activity. The Color Guard Academy will be an annual activity held every fall.
The next Color Guard activity will be the 2012 New Hampshire Wing Cadet Competition; which will be held in the spring. This web site will be updated with information soon, please check back for details. Each squadron in New Hampshire Wing is expected to have a Color Guard team at the competition.
